I described at the beginning under Stories > Bazillus Workshop II and Projects > The B-Flat Live Mix LP how the transition from B-Flat I at Weinbergstrasse to Ausstellungsstrasse 21 took place.

Between 1988 and 1991 Reinhard Birri and I produced the CD Extemporaneous and released it on our own label.

In B-Flat II, on the one hand, illegal sessions in the Bazillus workshop were again the order of the day from 1990 onwards, which then led to the LP "The B-Flat Live Mix" in 1994.

I also organized external projects.

In 1990 I was asked by the then operator of the old Kaufleuten, Peter Horneck, to offer my know-how at short notice for a festival. He agreed that I should call the festival "Die blitzschnellen B-Flat Jazz-Nights".

In the early 90s, guitarist Jean-Paul Bourelly made his first appearance at Ausstellungstrasse 21. He had just played a duo gig with an African-American poet at the Rote Fabrik. 

This was the beginning of our friendship, which continues to this day.

Many session musicians who are on the B-Flat Live Mix disc, then performed in a first project with Bourelly and his band " the Bluwave Bandits" and under the name "B-Flat-Night with Bandits" gave a workshop concert at the Fat Festival in the Gessnerallee.

1987 to 1997 were exciting and creative 10 years for me, but not necessarily the happiest. It was as if I was looking for compensation for the loss of the Bazillus Hirschen. There were a lot of activities: a CD, an LP, 2 festivals and from 1990 on illegal B-Flat sessions until the mid 90ies. At the end of 90ies we put on the legal B-Flat weekend sessions, which in 2004 led to the "Bazillus-ad hoc live club".
