Die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Bazillus und dem Gitarristen Jean-Paul Bourelly aus Chicago dauert nun schon seit 1991 und innerhalb dieser Zeit sind kleine und grosse Projekte mit ihm realisiert worden: ein fetter Workshop am Fat Festival (1994) in der Gessneralle mit 14 hiesigen Musikern, 2006 und 2007 zwei weitere, verschiedene Workshops inklusive CD mit Livemittschnitten aus dem heutigen Bazillus und daraus erfolgend eine kleine CH-Tournee 2009. Bazillus ist für J.P. eine Art „europe home base“ geworden, wo er kontinuierlich mit unseren Musikern arbeiten und neue Ideen entwickelt kann. Neben einem Master-Workshop stellen wir eigens für dieses Clubfestival zwei Ad Hoc -Formationen zusammen, die erstmals auf der Bazillus-Bühne zusammen spielen werden. Im ersten Set bilden Drummer Singha Dee (auf der CD mit dabei) und Kalabrese-Basser Marton Di Katz zusammen mit Gästen den Boden für Bourelly’s deep sounds. Der Wunsch, von den Musikern Pierre Audetat und Christophe Calpini von STADE (Lausanne/Geneve), endlich einmal mit Bourelly etwas durchzuziehen, erfüllt sich hier zum ersten Mal.
